Term 4 Week 8: Narritive

I am Blogging this because I want to show my learning. For this we had to write a narrative.

Death

“PAY ATTENTION!  STOP DAYDREAMING, DEATH!”.  Death shook himself awake.  General Thunderbolt was staring at him,  with the most fearsome glare.  “IF YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING TO BE A GUNMAN, THEN DELETE THAT THOUGHT, PERMANENTLY!” The General thundered.  Death sighed with sadness.  He wanted to become the army’s gunman.  But there was 0% chance of that happening.  Death daydreamed almost every second.

 “General! General!” shouted another soldier, running into the room.  “General!  Our team that we sent to the Black Forest in Germany have gone out of contact!”.  “I’m sure they are okay” they General replied.  The soldier continued to speak to General Thunderbolt, unaware that Death was hearing every single word.

Death thought to himself “I will go save the missing soldiers”.  So he did.  At night, he snuck into the place where the planes were stored.  He stole a rather large plane and flew off.  He set the plane to autopilot and went into the break room to have a coffee.  About 40 minutes later, a robot voice said “Arriving at destination”.  Death rushed into the control room and set the plane to land.  Once it landed he put a cloaking device on it.  Then he started to search for clues.

As he was walking about he heard some voices.  He quickly dived behind a tree.  As he peeked around the tree he saw some foreign soldiers.  They were German.  Germany was the greatest enemy of America.  One soldier spoke. “What do you think boss is going to do with those idiotic americans?”.  The other soldier replied “Probably Kill them”.  Death gasped without meaning to.  The other soldiers heard him.  “What was that?” shouted the first soldier.  “I don’t know” replied the second.  But before any of them could figure it out, Death jumped into the clearing, grabbed one soldier, and banged him into the other one.  “That was easy” he said.  He once again began to search for clues.

After a couple minutes Death saw something.  It was like a big metal bunker.  Death ran over to it.  Instantly some security lasers began to shoot out little blasts at Death.  He dodged them and ran to up to the big door.  He jumped up to one laser and aimed at the second.  The laser shot another blast and… BOOM!  The little blast destroyed the second.  Death pulled out a knife and cut the laser’s circuits.  He thought of possibilities of getting through the door.  In the end he decided to blow open the door with a bomb.  He turned it on and threw it at the door.  As the smoke faded away he saw something.  What did he see?  Did he see robots? Or Elephants?  Or the captured soldiers? You choose.

   

Term 4 Week 6:Six-Sentence Story

I am blogging this because I want show people my learning.  We were doing a narrative for literacy and Mr Moriarty gave us a sheet with six boxes.  It was called a six sentence story.  We could choose anything to write about but we had to start with once upon a time.  For each box we had to do something different.  Info is below

Prince Chips and the Pies

(Box 1) Once upon a time there was a potato named Prince Chips
(Box 2) He lived in a floating banana

(Box 4) Eventually, he ran out of pies
(Box 5) He felt desperate to get some more pies
(Box 6) Then he came up with a really great idea and that really great idea was... to go to the pie shop to buy some more pies.

Art Blog Post

I am blogging this because I want to show my learning.  For this we had to take a picture and then write about it.

My Spider Man Art

This my art.  I drew Spider man because I like superheroes.  I like lots of heroes, but Spidey is my favourite.  I only did his head because his body would body would be a bit hard.  This the process of my art:  At first I got the piece of paper and the pencil. Next I drew the outline of his head.  I then drew the outlines of his eyes.  After that I drew the lines on his costume with the pencil.  Next I blacked all the outlines and lines and outline of his eyes with a vivid.  I then coloured him red.  I painted the back round black and left it out to dry.  The next day I came and painted the eyes a Gray-white colour.  Then I cut him and put him on the background.  Then I was finished.       
       

Term 3 Week 9: E-Math

This is my graph.  It is about the All Blacks at the RWC.  It’s title is “How many wins and losses for the AB’s at the RWC”.  We had to choose our own data and make it into a graph. Some people worked together, some people didn’t.  I worked by myself.  I chose this data because I love rugby (and the AB’s).  The All Blacks have won the rugby world cup three times - 1987, 2011 and 2015.  The winners of the world cup are below

Term 4 Week 3: Maths

I was learning to figure out problems including weight and capacity. I'm blogging this because I want to show my maths.

Weight and Capacity

Four  problems to solve.

1. Think what balance scales look like (image a see-saw)

Draw five diagrams of different looking balance scales and put on each side what might be being weighed

A school bus has a 2600 kg carrying capacity,  How many people would it be permitted to carry?   (think about the difference of child and adult)

Child = 30 KGs each

Adult = 70 KGs each

40 Children = 1200 KGs

20 Adults = 1400 KGs

1200 KGs + 1400 KGs = 2600 KGs

2. I can see a selection of containers with a capacity bigger than 1 L but smaller than 2 L.  What might the containers be?

            1.5kgs , 1.1kgs , 1.2kgs , 1.3kgs , 1.4kgs , 1.6kgs , 1.7kgs , 1.8kgs , 1.9kgs ,

because the containers are bpthe filled with a kg and they are meant to be Litre containers.

3. Make three different packages that have a mass of 1 kg.  Compare the size of your packages and discuss why they can be so different but have the same mass.

All Blacks Show Who is Boss

On Saturday the 17th, the All Blacks showed the Frenchmen how good they are, giving them a thumping at Millennium Stadium for the Rugby World Cup 2015 Quarter-finals.  9 Tries went the All Blacks way with Julian Savea scoring a hat-trick.  The All Blacks were nervous before the game but in it they pushed aside their fears.  Les Bleus managed to get one try to Number 8 Picamoles but it wasn't enough.

At 7 minutes Dan Carter landed a penalty to get the All Blacks out to an early lead.  However, Les Bleus responded only 2 minutes.  But the first try of the match came to Brodie Retallick.  France were stuck on their own 22 so the halfback passed it to Michalak (The French number 10), and he kicked it.  But suddenly the ball came back down again - it had been charged down Brodie Retallick.  He picked it up, ran to the tryline and scored the game's first try.  A few minutes later France put on 3 more points for themselves.  Then Les Bleus had a chance to make it a one point match but the penalty missed.

 But that’s when the All Blacks started playing amazingly - 2 tries in 6 minutes.  One went to Nehe Milner-Skudder, and the other to Savea.  The French try was the next scoring.  After a successful conversion, the score was tightened to 24-13.  But then came a strike of awesomeness.  The ball was passed to Julian Savea.  Suddenly..BANG! A Frenchmen came bouncing of him BANG! BANG!  Two more Frenchmen bounced off him… and Savea scored a try.  The conversion was unsuccessful and half time came with an All Black lead of 29-13.

 7 minutes after the start of the second spell, Picomoles, try scorer for France, got yellow carded for an apparent “Fist To The Face” on Richie McCaw.  Just a few minutes after the yellow card, Jerome Kaino ran in the corner for the All Blacks 5th try.  After Savea got his hat-trick and Read ran in for a try, the All Blacks lead stretched out to 48-13.  After the try Tawera Kerr-Barlow came on for Aaron Smith, and played amazingly, scoring two tries, both of them right under the posts.  Both conversions went over easily.  There was no scoring from then and All Blacks won by 49 points with a 62-13 win.  The Man of the Match award went to Julian Savea for scoring 3 tries.  The All Blacks had deleted the ghosts of the past.  This game was also the last for the French Fly-Half Fredrick Michalak.  The number 10 went off shortly after Brodie Retallick’s try.  Despite the All Blacks easy win, coach Steve Hansen said that the Springboks would be no joke in the Semi-Final at Twickenham.    

Character Descritpion

ZAC THE CAT by Lachlan

Zac The Cat AKA Rena Tiddly, Fat Cat, Rena, Stinky Thing

She has many nicknames. She is stinky.  She is a cat. When I first got this cat I thought it was a boy.  Well, at least that is what the person who gave it to me said.  However, when we took her to the vet, he said that it was a girl.  Since we had already given her a name, we couldn’t change it.  Most people would think that Zac is a him, not a her.

Zac is the pain of the family.  She has black and white fur which is quite soft actually.  But don’t cuddle her for ages, otherwise… SCRATCH! CHOMP!  You will, with no guarantee, will end up with some scratch or bite marks.  She loves to laze about.  Another hobby is eating.  She is as fat as the neighbor's house!  We put her outside at night and when we go out.  Zac has learned that at night we put her out, so she hides in crazy places.  Once she hid under the spare bed mattress, another time she hid in the kitchen sink.

You can describe Zac in lots of words.  Funny, Fierce, Crazy, Lazy, Etcetera, Etcetera, Etcetera.  I also think she is half Cat, A Quarter Dog and Quarter Magician.  The reason I say a cat because she is a cat.  The reason I say dog is because she growls at people she hasn’t smelt before.  The reason I say Magician is because once, Mum baked Shortbread biscuits at put them in one of her things she keeps her baked goods in.  However, 10 minutes later I heard a munching sound, and, when I went into the kitchen, Zac was chomping away at the biscuits.

Zac is the master of sleeping.  And the master of Hiding.  She is often found in crazy places ( See Paragraph 2).  Also, she'll sleep where ever she wants to.  And I mean it.  If she can’t reach a place, she’ll find a way to get to it.  She’s like a tank - Unstoppable.  She is the stinkiest cat I ever known.  I can’t remember the last time I saw her wash herself.

I will just say that even though Zac is crazy and adventurous, she is only 3 (21 in Cat years).  Her birth date is 5th of march 2012.  Zac is definitely the CRAZIEST CAT I’ve ever known.  Even though she may be crazy, she is still the best cat ever.
